  • Damage adjustment on the occasion of two vessels colliding when passing through the Strait of Gibraltar; monitoring of transhipment operations, determining the extent of the damage to goods in one of them (bulk sugar) and salvage sale of the damaged goods. Damage to the goods assessed at $US 42 million.
  • Contamination of a cargo of sunflower seeds from the bodies of six stowaways on board a vessel. Damage assessed at $US 7.2 millions.
  • Study of the reasons why a marine engine block fell during a vessel’s hold loading operations. Adjustment of the block manufacturer’s claim; $US 4 million.
  • Determining the reasons why a gas turbine for an aircraft carrier under construction for the Thailandese Navy fell while being transferred in the terminal; design of a turbine rescue plan; turbine value of $US 5 million; claim for damage and rescue expenses of $US 640,000.
  • Contamination of a cotton seed cargo from the dead bodies of three stowaways aboard a vessel. Negotiation with the Health Authorities. Claim of $US 3.6 million. Matter closed with a friendly agreement
  • Damage through cranes colliding. Claim of $US 1.35 million.
  • Losses and damage to timber deck cargo through bad weather during a sea crossing; damage estimate of $US 1.2 million.
  • Determining the causes and assessment of damage to a cargo of frozen shell fish; $US 825,000.
  • Damage adjustment in a cargo of sheet glass transported by sea from Malaysia to Corunna (La Coruña). Claim of $US 750,000.
  • Study of the reasons why a cargo of Argentine corn transported by ship to the Port of Las Palmas was soaked. Initial claim of $US 620,000. Final agreement $US 140,000.
  • Claim for damage through bulk fertilizer cargo drenching; $US 250,000. Fraud proven with a favourable legal decision. This intervention received a special mention from the insurers.
  • Theft of mobile telephones whilst being transported from Seville to Singapore; $US 240,000. Fraud proven with favourable legal decision.
